WELCOME

Many of us never think twice when we reach in a drawer to pull out a pair of socks, finding lots of single socks but hardly a pair in site. Many of us never seem to think twice in picking up more pairs of socks to add to our collection. But what about the individuals who don’t even own a pair of socks or only have but one pair to their name. 

Nebraska is a state with definite four seasons in a year. Here in Lincoln, when it starts to get cold in the heartland, it does become pretty cold. It is sad to see a little child coming to school with bare feet inside the soles of shoes while it is snowing outside. It’s sad to see a homeless person trying to find warmth without a pair of socks. Our feet are usually the first part to feel the cold if they are not bundled or covered to be kept warm.

Saturday, October 27^th is MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY. 

This is the day that I, Mary Schwartzkopf, Mrs. US United Queen 2007/08 is working on the campaign called, Socks to Share.

I ask all of you to find in your hearts to purchase one or more pairs of socks or donate as many clean pairs that you may have already at home. My goal is to fill up a box I will have to pick up socks from those who plan to donate. For more information, you can go on the website: www.socks2share.tecbox.com
